Wooded Archway Series
This series of work is based upon a 4x6 photograph taken by a friend of a deer that had appeared between a natural archway created by the trees on her property. I first saw the photograph upside down and became drawn to the lines of interlocking branches and the shape of the dense brown woodland in contrast to the white snow covered ground. It was the abstracted shapes and textures that drew my attention. I hadn’t noticed the deer!
